#ClimateBoiling The current El Niño event — which has been impacting global temperatures and weather since July of last year — is predicted to continue to drive record heat in 2024, according to a new modeling analysis by an international team of researchers.

The flooding in UAE should serve as a wake up call for urgency in action. Climate change is outpacing current mitigation efforts. Ignoring mitigation and not supporting adaptation adequately is a recipe for accelerating the end of systems that support life on planet Earth.

The roadmap to resilience tells us what needs to be done. How effectively will the recommendations be integrated into policy actions and what timeframe is set for achieving targets will determine the success or failure of the new government. Hoping for a paradigm shift!
