The idea that anyone can run a classroom effectively is adding to what's already a problem. Teachers want to be viewed as professionals and have their knowledge of pedagogy respected.

No teacher should have to bring work home to complete in the evening or on weekends, but many do and it has to change. No teacher should have to work extra jobs over the summer or during the school year to survive, but many do and this also has to change.

How will they learn to read for fun if you don’t read to them for fun? The purpose of reading is so much bigger than “for school” or for a test score.
