Just so i understand this, blocking the strait of Hormuz is unfair, but blocking oil shipments to Cuba in order to collapse their whole country, is fair, did I get that right🤔

I was always going to hate this show but now I’m raging with the sixth episode barista saying, erroneously, I went to a job fair and realized I couldn’t get a job with a philosophy degree. #TheMadison

There’s a lot you can do curb AI cheating (digital typewriters are one suggestion I’ve also made). The solutions I advocate for sound extreme, but passively accepting the end of mass literacy and the liberal arts is also an extremist position—one posing as “embracing the future.”

For I was hungry, and you voted against the school lunch program that provided me my only meal of the day, I was thirsty and you voted against clean water legislation, a stranger and you voted to lock me in a cage at an I.C.E. concentration camp at the border.

This announcement arrives hours after our investigation (newyorker.com/magazine/2026/…) described how OpenAI dissolved its superalignment and AGI-readiness teams and dropped safety from the list of its most significant activities on its IRS filings—and how, when we asked to speak

I'm in the Chronicle of Higher Education today arguing that teaching and learning centers (basically, professional development centers for higher ed teachers) are not genuine sources of teaching expertise and shouldn't be treated like they are. (link in first comment) (1)

“What will it take to get AI out of schools?” This is the $64,000 question and my current bête noire and white whale. No amount of potential harm to student learning, reputational injury, or legal exposure seems to dissuade university administrators from the AI siren song

When are we going to hear a mea culpa from Mary Cain’s Bronxville Coach Mitchell? Does Hall of Fame coaching status go to such enablers of bullying and abuse? nysphsaa.org/hof.aspx?hof=7….

One of the things I keep thinking about with the Mary Cain story is she started with Salazar AFTER Kara Goucher left him. That means someone at least knew how abusive he was to women. Poses tough questions about what women owe other women re the DL on abusive men.
