On my birthday yesterday I went to my ancestral home of Good Easter in Essex for a look around. What a pretty place. I saw this smart #lodgescoaches Solo whilst there complete with cheerful driver🙂. That's my great grandparents in the photo outside their house, Ivy Cottage.

Had a busy day getting this Reading Buses stalwart ready to visit London Bus Museum on Sunday 27th June with the help of friends. It's been inspected, washed and cleaned. Looks superb!

Another grand day out thanks to GWR. Reading to Hanborough, a beautiful 10 mile walk to Charlbury then train back to Reading. Also visited the amazing English Heritage North Leigh Roman Villa.

It's arrived! My new mug from The Fifty Fund Love it! Brings back many memories of window hanging and getting told off for "collecting" these destination bills!

Probably the first and last time these will work to Reading! Very rare! GWR 150246, 265 & 248 worked up from Exeter as 1A86 and will work back as 1Z92. All down to storm Eunice.

Fiddler Ferry power station. Disused for a couple of years now. Thought I'd have a look whilst up here, before it gets pulled down. Bonus seeing a DB Cargo UK 66 trundle past.

The branch from Skelton Jnc to Partington. Can't believe this line was still part of Network Rail until 2008! Mothballed since 1993 when the last oil train ran.

Well, I've had what's almost certainly my last hurl on a Southern class 455 yesterday. I had a chat with the friendly driver at Epsom. It was his last trip on them as he's on holiday from today and added that he'll miss them. Me too. They've done very well though.

I dropped some friends at Southampton Docks for their holiday cruise today. Thought I'd have a look around before heading back and what do I see Ralph Roberts? A very lost Inchinnan bus!

I had a nice little trip to Salisbury from Reading yesterday via SWR Help, the only day you can get a through train. I retraced steps of my childhood across Harnham Water meadows and later, looked around the city and cathedral.
