The advisory group for the Independent Practice Network has now been meeting for a year and we are gathering momentum. Based on the survey of network members of what they would like from the network, we have identified three priorities. (1/7)

⭐️ Peer networking/support We have established a steering group to look at how to best set up and develop networking and support structures. Initial online meeting planned for Monday 17th June 1-2pm open to all, to bring clinical issues, business dilemmas and other issues. (2/7)

🌟 CPD in relation to business matters We have been exploring potential training around finance issues, e.g. how best to set up your business (sole trader vs ltd company etc), tax issues etc. We hope to be able to offer this training before the start of the summer break (3/7)

We have 3 members who have won awards for innovation and we are looking forward to hosting a webinar with them in the autumn to hear their experiences of gaining grants in both the public & private sector and how they have developed their innovative projects and businesses (4/7)

🌟Strategic matters Our chair, Sarah Swan has been leading a group who are developing criteria and a process for accrediting people outside the NHS to use the Consultant title.  Further information on this will be provided in this month’s Buzz (5/7)

We have also started to discuss the issue of how as CPs we can effectively market our skills and competencies, such that the public are more aware of how we differ from other types of talking therapists.  We are pleased to have recruited an Expert by Experience to assist us (6/7)
