Very happy to share that the U.S. National Science Foundation REU Program in Earth System Science at Colorado State University is inviting undergraduates interested in Earth Science to apply for our Summer 2022 program. Can't wait to meet our new cohort! atmos.colostate.edu/ATS_REU/ CSU Atmos Sci

It was so cool getting to present my research at #AMSStudent2022 this weekend! I’m so grateful that I had the opportunity to research with @ClimateBecky & Russ Schumacher this summer with CSU, and I’m looking forward to presenting again virtually on Wednesday the 26th!

I just accepted a graduate assistantship offer and I’m about to cry (the happiest tears!) for the rest of the night. I am so grateful for the opportunities I have been presented over the past few years #umd #terps

After four amazing years at Texas A&M University, I’m excited to announce I’ve accepted a PhD offer at NC State University! There I will be working with Dr. Anantha Aiyyer studying African Easterly Waves and hurricane formation. One step closer to becoming Dr. Thornton 🎓

Had a wonderful visit to TAMU Atmospheric Sciences this week. Only 35 years after earning my BS in Meteorology there! Thanks for inviting me Sarah Brooks, and for great discussions with faculty and students (including former REU interns Abby Thornton, Ashley Sebok). Gig 'Em!

I never thought I’d be able to say this but I’ve officially made it! Meteorology degree° acquired & financially supported myself the whole way! I’m beyond grateful to Texas A&M University and everyone who helped me get to this point. Can’t wait to see what’s in the forecast for my future 🌪

🌟 A star is born! Behind the curtain of dust and gas in these “Cosmic Cliffs” are previously hidden baby stars, now uncovered by Webb. We know — this is a show-stopper. Just take a second to admire the Carina Nebula in all its glory: nasa.gov/webbfirstimage… #UnfoldTheUniverse

As Ian makes landfall, I want to remind everyone that disasters do in fact discriminate. There are likely individuals that had to stay behind because they did not have the means to leave. Dont victim blame. Have empathy. Think before you tweet.

Filled or not, these train cars near Highway 225 in Deer Park are typically heavy, but it was easy pickings for Tuesday's severe storm. abc13.com/12731700/
