Elective surgery cancelled state-wide again, patients languishing in pain for months + months, kids conditions getting beyond salvage, yet super spreading nightclubs staying open, major events still running. I just can’t #Covid_19 Victorian Department of Health

A new devastating record of over 80,000 Victorians waiting on elective surgery wait list.. & at last Andrews Govt has FINALLY ended Code Brown. Their spin to end that can’t cover up these figures & the ongoing crisis within Victoria’s health system #springst

Georgie Crozier MP I would like to know why NSW with 2600 COVID - 75% electives and never stopped Cat2 surgery, QLD-800 inpatients never stopped private hospitals - Vic Code Brown with peak admissions=1100 and now only 700 inpatients. See nursing staff figures by state below (AHPRA).Doesn’t add up!

Another child hurt by Dan Andrews blanket elective bans. This could have been half day surgery 2 years ago, but now 2-stage surgery over 2 days, the first through the child’s chest. Dates on image as proof. Elective bans are willful negligence and harming children Victorian Department of Health

Data manipulation by Dan Andrews Victorian Department of Health Victorian Agency for Health Information wait time for surgery only reflects those who HAD surgery. Children waitlist NOW in RCH Orthopaedics, ave273 days, 51% already wait time. Waitlists don’t reflect the 50% currently waiting for treatment in private hospitals

Since Dan Andrews @MartinFoleyMP listen to mathematicians & not doctors, perhaps they can explain how health systems around the world managed to deliver elective surgery during Omicron, but Victorian Department of Health could not? Govt should facilitate, not drive panic! Stark contrast below!

Paying surgeons & anaesthetists not to work in the public. Paying private hospitals not to work keeping them empty. Paying for medihotels with no patients. Could we be burning any more taxpayers money in Victoria for any less hospital output?

Remember - these staffed and empty private hospital beds are being funded by public (ie tax) money as part of the ‘private hospitals agreement’. The wastage is unacceptable! Izabella Staskowski Matthew Guy MP Dan Andrews @MartinFoleyMP The Project 9News Melbourne 7NEWS Melbourne

Empty, well staffed, private hospitals are being funded by public money as per the private hospital agreement. This is a waste of Victorian tax payer money and is unacceptable. Dan Andrews @MartinFoleyMP Matthew Guy MP

Alfred Health confirms to Pandemic Committee that no private healthcare staff were used through latest Omicron wave.. despite Govt shutting private hospitals down & saying staff would be used in public hospitals. #WaitLists #springst

Finally some transparency-we knew this the whole time. No more blanket elective surgery bans!Hospitals should manage their own capacity until staff are actually taken to public hospitals(if needed).Time to stop the wastage! Dan Andrews @MartinFoleyMP Matthew Guy MP Simon Love
