Henk Hoekstra (Universiteit Leiden) is looking forward to the launch of ESA's Euclid. "The data analysis is going to be complex, but we can cope with that. The only challenge now, is that we need a rocket" (since it was planned on a Russian Soyuz)
Nina Sartorio (Ghent University Research) tries to model the cosmic down by using fictitional X-ray binaries. #NAC2022
Bharat Kumar Gehlot (Kapteyn Astronomical Institute) uses Low Frequency Array to search for the 21cm-line (hydrogen) in the very early universe. He compares it to finding a needle in a haystack. But after his presentation it more looks like finding a specific piece of hay in a haystack.
Ecaterina Leonova (Anton Pannekoek Institute) found some Lyman alpha lines in the early universe. The results support the theory that the first ionized bubbles formed in overdense regions.
Stefanie Fijma (Anton Pannekoek Institute) tries to unravel why binaries with a black hole differ so much from binaries with a neutron star. Paper submitted to MNRAS. Preprint: arxiv.org/abs/2204.10910 #NAC2022
