ADHD is thinking about all the things you have to do, getting stressed about all the things, worrying about the consequences of not doing the things, but still feeling stuck and unable to do any of the things.

We have a couple of resident peacocks where we live. I have named them Pericles and Parmenion. Pericles is very diplomatic and says good morning every day. Parmenion is a dick. #Classics #Greece #Macedonia #NOTbirdsofafeather

The period from 96 AD to 180 AD has been labelled the time of the Five Good Emperors. These were Nerva, Trajan, Hadrian, Antoninus Pius and Marcus Aurelius.

One of the most profound things I read in my original journey to ADHD diagnosis was what Dr. Ned Hallowell calls “the cough drop sign” in the book, Driven To Distraction. I’d never felt more seen before reading this quote. It comes from one of Hallowell’s ADHD patients:

‘But you don’t understand,’ I said, ‘my whole life is like that. I see something that I mean to do and then I don’t do it. It’s not only trivial things like the cough drop; it’s big things, too.’”

ADHD makes it hard to plan and break down tasks. You have something that needs to be done, and your brain doesn't know where to start and it gets intimidated. And it loses any possible motivation. It feels like wayyy too much effort for any possible result.
