Gaza: The conduct of this conflict is a race to the bottom, and it's happening with American, German, and other western-supplied arms.

After the killing of the 7 aid workers from World Central Kitchen, its work in Gaza stopped. Tens of thousands of displaced families will not receive their only meal. WCK work in Gaza is very much needed, it shouldn’t stop for the memory of those who lost their lives supporting the others.

Born and raised as a refugee in Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza. I lived in Gaza for 32 years, during which I witnessed many wars, but nothing was ever similar to this one. Now, after 178 days of war on Gaza, Refugee once again.

It took 5 months for UN Security Council to pass the resolution calling for Gaza ceasefire that we asked for in October. Today only 95 aid trucks were allowed through to starving Gaza. More civilians died. No hostages were released. Can we get action now? bbc.co.uk/news/world-mid…

As the U.S. airdrops some food into Gaza and plans to build an off-shore port, aid worker Yousef D. Hammash with @nrc_norway says the 'more simple, more realistic and more efficient' route would be for the U.S. to pressure its ally Israel to lift restrictions on humanitarian relief.

My interview with NRC's Yousef D. Hammash in Rafah. He says any small aid helps but air drops and a pier are 'unrealistic options.' On a ceasefire he tells me that 'we are looking for a second to breathe' but 'we don’t need a break, we want to ensure our lives back.'

On this March 8 I think of my heroic female NRC colleagues in Gaza who have been displaced multiple times, lost their homes, lost family members - but still they work day and night for starving girls and women, boys and men under bombardment and besiegement.
