It was a pleasure to attend a very busy coffee morning at Warwick House today with Cllrs Colleen Atkins and Zara Layne.

We heard from residents about their concerns locally and nationally, and picked up several pieces of casework.

A real highlight of the year is the Bedford Independent Everyday Heroes Awards which took place last night.

The event recognises and highlights the work of Bedfordians across our Borough over the last year. Congratulations to all the winners and nominees.

Good to be out earlier with Councillor Ralley Rahman and Mansoor Nasir in Kingsbrook Ward speaking to residents.

Lots of casework picked up and good to hear residents views on a variety of local and national issues.

Bedfordshire needs a PCC that will work with them with integrity- it's the least we deserve to start to fix policing in our county.

The Tory Commissioner has failed to keep our streets safe and be accountable to the public.

In #PMQs today Deputy Labour leader Angela Rayner put questions to the Deputy PM Oliver Dowden on housing, particularly on no fault evictions and the leasehold scandal.

The government need to definitively abolish Section 21 evictions or a Labour government will finish the job.

Our communities can only thrive when people feel safe.
