The launch of Joseph Rowntree Foundation Minimum Income Standard throws into stark reality the problems for unpaid #carers who are existing on Carers Allowance.
I’m currently caring full-time and receiving carers allowance so I couldn’t resist working out how caring compares to the minimum income standard. Assuming the max work income allowed + top up UC, unpaid carers income is less than 60% of what Joseph Rowntree Foundation find is needed to live well.

In his parliamentary debate on #SEND provision, Richard Burgon MP called for the scrapping of Safety Valve ✅, the cancelling of LA high needs debt ✅ and for government to discourage the demonisation of "pushy parents" who are forced to fight for their children's support. We concur
