@alantormeyLD Vision Zero LCR Liverpool Echo Liam Thorp Morning Alan Thanks for submitting this to the council. I'd be very interested in seeing the reply, as I think a lot of others who support the idea of a safe cycling infrastructure being introduced. I am sure that you're aware, Liverpool has topped the table when it...

@alantormeyLD Vision Zero LCR Liverpool Echo Liam Thorp ... it comes to both adult and child cycling related fatal injuries or deaths. That's a statistic that's lasted far too long in my opinion. Recently, there was a study that showed on average around 70 per cent of the population were in favour of safer segregated cycling lanes...

@alantormeyLD Vision Zero LCR Liverpool Echo Liam Thorp I think this recent infographic speaks volumes. The real question is this: What is more important? Reducing the shocking stat that an adult or child is more likely to be killed while cycling in Liverpool than anywhere else in the UK or reducing time motorists spend in traffic?

@alantormeyLD Spin Editor James Vision Zero LCR Liverpool Echo Liam Thorp I find that a bit frustrating to be honest. Consulting residents about having a segregated cycle lane outside their homes is a waste of time. Of course they won't want it! Have you seen Woolton Road? It's full of cars parked on the pavement and in the cycle lanes.

Mark @alantormeyLD Andi Vision Zero LCR Liverpool Echo Liam Thorp livepedestrian @CarsRuinedLpool Fact of the matter is this, as far as I can tell: 1. Liverpool has a poor record in terms of providing linked up safe cycling infrastructure 2. The city has the worse record in terms of cycling safety in the UK 3. At least three people (adults and children) are killed every week

Betty is entitled to her view, but it's poorly-informicated: whilst the popular press portrays cyclists as reckless and studies have shown that a red-light running cyclist angers drivers more than anything else, researcherors found that 84% of people on cycles stop at red lights.

It is astonishing how we designed our public spaces around the car. But it is utterly mind-blowing how society seems to accept that status quo! (by Karl Jilg)

The first pre-order copies of “Curbing Traffic” are landing on doorsteps, and we couldn’t be more excited or proud. We’ve written a deeply personal and passionate book we hope inspires cities to do better. The challenge is now getting it in front of as many readers as possible.

LPL has an inactivity/health crisis, like all UK cities, and every single 'encourage people to get fit' scheme has 100% utterly failed. Yet here's a video of mixed activity & play that could be mistaken for an enlightened euro city. "Ban it!!"

How can you possibly justify letting this person drive ever again? How? Road danger is the single most common reason sited for not traveling by bike at a time when we desperately need people to do just that The consequences of road crime are so great, it is a national emergency
