We are calling on the Govt to take immediate action as we need ringfenced funding for GP jobs based in General Practice, and for primary care to survive, we need it now! Wes Streeting #endGPunemployment

How has it come to this... Patients are waiting over 4 weeks to see their GP whilst there are MANY GPs unemployed that could reduce these waits Instead of treating patients in the community, our colleagues are considering employment benefits Wes Streeting #EndGPUnemployment

If we do not fight to retain within the NHS these newly qualified GPs, they will be lost - immediate funding is required to prevent overwhelming GP unemployment in August

#endGPunemployment with immediate implementation of ring-fences monies - this will not wait for a new contract, it needs to happen now

There is still a GP employment crisis despite Wes Streeting releasing Ā£80m into ARRS as an ā€˜emergency’ measure Because it was restricted to newly qualified & these roles aren’t substantive meaning appts aren’t increasing Funding is needed for Practices to recruit/retain/pay GPs

Ben G.T. Coumbe DOCTORS are the NHS punching bag. The most extensive training and clinical responsibility but still viewed as replaceable. It's why as a profession we have seen the biggest drop in pay in private & public sectors and DHSC/GMC look to replace us with our assistants.

It is very concerning to read that the 25/26 GP contract in England is doing little to improve the lot of GPs. Not creating jobs for unemployed GPs āŒ Not ensuring Salaried GPs receive a paltry and insulting 4% uplift āŒ Unacceptable!

Consultant, SAS and Resident Doctors have had to fight hard to begin their journey to pay restoration. Salaried GPs have not been on strike. Their reward? A 4% pay award when RPI inflation in April was 4.5%. Sadly Government still only listen when they are forced to.
