In 2007, we worked w/ DOE to create Student Success Centers to provide college & career readiness for all kids. Now, Mayor Eric Adams is slated to cut this program entirely—denying us the skills we need to excel in our next chapter. New York City Council pls don’t let this happen. #CareNotCuts

For Mayor Eric Adams & Chancellor David C. Banks, college & career readiness doesn’t mean giving us the tools to achieve our dreams. It means becoming school cops. Why else would they cut Student Success Centers from the budget, while funding “assistant school cops” to recruit us to join the NYPD?

We also want to give a special shout-out to the students who rallied, testified before New York City Council, spoke at press conferences, and shared their experiences at town halls all year to make sure elected leaders understood what it would mean to roll back or eliminate key programs.

Today, along w/ community organizations and elected allies, we are calling out the Mayor Eric Adams's dangerous and anti-democratic ballot initiatives, Props 2-6. New Yorkers know a sneaky power grab when they see one. Take the pledge to defend democracy and vote NO on Props 2-6.
