Our Southern Operations Branch was honored to welcome 18 veterans for #WarriorsDayontheLake 2024 at Success Lake on April 27. W/ help from Centralvalleyveteran, these vets enjoyed a morning of fishing and lunch afterward. This event is always great & we’re looking forward to next year!
We were happy to celebrate completion of the Redding Air Attack Base Phase 1 enhancements with USFS Fire-California, City of Redding last week. This $28M project is crucial for wildfire response across the western U.S.
Randy and Peggy Loyd volunteered at Stanislaus River Parks, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District, providing park host services, water safety programs, and tours.

I started my Climate Action Week with Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works Secretary Connor — where we toured the West Sacramento Project — an innovative example of engineering with nature.
We only have one earth & we must work with it to ensure we make sustainable, meaningful progress. #EarthDay
Today, we showcased over $4 billion of flood risk management projects from across the Sacramento region during an event at the Sac Weir. We were honored to have Rep. Doris Matsui, ASACW, @CADWR, @GraniteConstruction, Wilton Rancheria & Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation join us for a successful event.

We are celebrating #EarthDay w/ Rep. Doris Matsui, Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works & @CityofWestSacramento at the Southport Setback Levee, a nature-centric design w/over 5 mi. of improved levee & about 120 acres of restored floodplain. Engineering w/ nature to reduce flood risk of our communities.
ERDC is studying how #3dprinting can be used to incorporate nature-inspired designs into coastal infrastructure, while also beneficially using dredged material as printer feedstock. #EWN network4ewn USACE HQ
