Principle investigators from several institutions recently gathered at ERDC’s Coastal and Hydraulics Laboratory to discuss planning and coordination efforts for the US Coastal Research Program 2025 Sediment Transport Collaborative Laboratory Experiment (SEDCOLAB).
Participants from ERDC & USACE HQ recently attended the 100th meeting of the Board on Coastal Engineering Research hosted by San Francisco USACE. The historical meeting was a celebration of advancements in coastal engineering and highlighted the next frontier of Pacific coastal challenges.
ERDC’s Cold Regions Research & Engineering Lab recently hosted its annual Awards Ceremony, where employees were recognized for their contributions in helping USACE, U.S. Army, Department of Defense 🇺🇸 and the nation solve challenges brought upon by the most austere cold region environments.
ERDC’s Cold Regions Research and Engineering Lab Acting Director Dr. Ivan Beckman was recently the guest speaker at the weekly meeting of the Rotary Club of Hanover at Dartmouth 🌲. He discussed how the lab impacts the Nation, as well as the Upper Valley region.
ERDC and the Mississippi Valley Division recently hosted representatives from NASA, National Weather Service, and the USGS . The team is collaborating on potential opportunities to advance an earth systems digital twin for navigable waterways
Recently, ERDC took part in an Army S&T Demo Day at Fort Belvoir, Va.. The event aimed to drive Congressional engagement and support for Army S&T programs. It provided attendees with a deeper understanding and appreciation for the critical work in supporting Soldiers and the Nation.

ERDC Director Dr. David Pittman and leadership recently traveled to Houston, Texas, to tour Rice University. During the visit, the group was introduced to the new Rice PFAS Alternatives and Remediation Center (R-PARC) that will address global challenges posed by PFAS.
Recently, leadership from Hinds Community College visited the ERDC-Vicksburg campus to gain a better understanding of the research and development happening in the laboratories, as well as the pipeline for student opportunities and potential employment.
