Why study history? Last May, students at Avonworth District grappled with this question as they watched #RepairingTheWorld, a 📽️ about the #TreeOfLifePittsburgh shooting at TheLindsayTheater. Discussions with survivors were particularly meaningful.

Great news! Teen Screen will be offering the new📽️#999-The Forgotten Girls in theater and virtually beginning Sept 1! This is the story of 999 teenage girls who, in Spring 1942, were sent from Czechoslovakia to Auschwitz to serve as slaves. More here: filmpittsburgh.org/pages/teen-scr…

999: The Forgotten Girls, a new Teen Screen📽️, was shared today at #TheLindsayTheater w/ students and teachers from #NorthHillsHS & #CentralValleyHS. Attendees followed personal stories of members of the first transport of young girls to Auschwitz and then participated in a Q&A.

2 screenings of SMALL TOWN UNIVERSE, 1 for the community at TheLindsayTheater and 1 for Eliz Forward MS at #TheHarrisTheater. We learned about radio astronomy, the struggle to save the Green Bank Observatory, and a small Appalachian town.

Another successful screening for students at the #3RFF! Groups from #SenecaValley and #Neshannock visited #TheHarrisTheater to see 📽️ #UnBroken and meet director Beth Lane. UnBroken documents Beth's quest to learn about her mother who, w 6 siblings, survived the #Holocaust.
