The sun was shining. Two great sides. The stakes were high. All on the line. While the victory went to the Harps this time (congrats Helsinki Harps GAA powerful today) seeing the hurling grow and level raise up was the best take away. Onwards and upwards 👍

Big announcement! Two years since the pizza shovel incident, there is now three hurling clubs in Finland and a new trophy, handmade by Paddy Reynolds. Next Saturday, who will take home the "All-Finland Fr. Pizza McShovel memorial sheild"?? Tampere Hammer Gaels GAA or Helsinki Harps??!!

It was a hammering.

A great morning of hurling. First time ever a hurling game has been held in Tampere in what may well be the northern most game ever. Today Tampere took the win, and the Fr. Pizza McShovel as the prize (massive credit to Paddy Reynolds of the Harps for this). Finnish Hurling abú!

Fantastic game of hurling yesterday against Tampere Hammer Gaels GAA, with a guest appearance from the Turku Delights also!! Well Done to Tampere for taking home the sheild this year! If you live in Helsinki, Tampere or Turku and you want to play hurling, just get in touch!! 🙂

History was made earlier this month, when the 1st competitive hurling game in #Tampere was held. The hosts Tampere Hammer Gaels GAA defeated Helsinki Harps GAA in the All-Finland hurling final. Thanks to the Harps for travelling and for a sporting game, also to our supporters who came out.

As the Nordic winter grins cheekily around the corner our end of season team clash stood firm against the bitter cold and frozen ground on Saturday morning. ❄️❄️ A great turnout for our traditional Hammers v Gaels game.
