Great afternoon spent at the BuryWaterMeadowsGroup Bury BioBlitz in the Abbey Gardens today. Enjoyed the black poplar walk and talk.
Sue Warren Of course I had my lens in my rucksack but someone kindly lent me theirs to look for 'hairs on the petioles'. Thanks to David Appleton of Suffolk Tree Warden Network (Charity no. 1205573) for the guided tour during BuryWaterMeadowsGroup BioBlitz.
A powerful, important new film from Food, Farming and Countryside Commission just when we need to hear it loud and clear. A timely reminder of what farmers face - from extreme weather, power imbalance in supply chains, to receiving little of the price of the food they make despite bearing all the risk.
There is a Turtle Dove talk next Wednesday at BSE library by Eliza Leat, she gave an excellent talk to Suffolk Bird Group previously. Like Swifts, Turtle Doves need our help too. Do attend if you wish to learn more Suffolk Bird Group Katie Judge ScrubUpBritain

Lovely day at Foxburrow with SuffolkWildlifeTrust colleagues, always a nostalgic visit for me, nice to see Tess’s oak tree, see ponds we’ve recently helped fund & create, and hear about the new era for the site 😊
This year, we are also thinking about the mighty hedgerow tree, they are another crucial part of our landscape heritage; so next time you think hedgerow, think hedgerow tree as well! Here are 5 trees great for hedgerows! 🌳 #NationalHedgerowWeek
