Oh dear, this is awkward.😬 This may be consuming the media currently but we all know that, if Angela Rayner had to eventually step down over these tax questions, she'd be back magically rehabilitated one way or another after the election in any case. 🤷‍♂️

Matthew Pennycook MP With respect Matthew the last thing we need is yet more talk. Leasehold has to go. People who pay 4 homes must own & control them. We set service charge budgets. We hire & 🔥 managing agents. Yr party ducked this in 2002. Millions more plunged into leasehold misery as a result.

Backsliding on Reform , another u-turn. No commitment to a Bill in the manifesto. Careful talk of commonhold only being a 'default' rather than mandatory tenure. Shadow housing minister says he wants to revert to a 'conversation' with leaseholders. 🤷‍♂️

Govt has a Bill going through parliament with steps to give millions of leaseholders greater control over their own homes and cut costs. Labour is offering, er, a 'conversation'? 😳

Cracking down on tax avoidance is a fairly tired old agreeable mantra, trotted out every election season. Yet, here, it's going to pay for all Labour's pledges? Lazy stuff from Rachel Reeves.

Jason Beer: “You’ve not returned to work since then because you were dedicated to campaigning accountability, justice and redress; is that right?

Bates: “Yes… I didn’t set out to spend 20 years doing this.'

New: Post Office campaigner Alan Bates said Sir Ed Davey's letter of May 2010 was 'disappointing and offensive'.

He tells inquiry: “They had not read or taken into account anything which I had said in my previous correspondence. It appeared to be a standard template response.”

In his Inquiry witness statement, published today, Alan Bates describes why he found this reply from Ed Davey 'disappointing and offensive': 'they had not read or taken into account anything which I had said ... It appeared to be a standard template response.'

Hi Ofgem, I can't seem to contact British Gas. Am 81st in line on the 'Live Chat'. Should maybe be renamed 'Long Wait'? Not answering phones. They don't even have an email address. How can I contact this £multi-billion energy firm; should I buy stamps? Pls advise. 🤷‍♂️

Alan Bates: 'I'd like to know how much briefing Post Office executives gave to [Ed Davey] to steer away from meeting with ourselves. What was said at the time?' Will this come up during new hearings; Alan Bates giving evidence tomorrow.

This is insane - and at the heart of it is too many owners/agents taking a slice; housing association, managing agent, freeholder, all billing the leaseholder. It all needs to be swept away, allowing the real property owners control of their own homes.

Now 28 days since Labour admitted 'some of the personal details of Labour members in the Croydon East constituency were altered on the Labour Party membership database without authorisation'. Despite questions from me & others they still won't say if anyone suspended or punished

Exactly the point. It may entail a little holiday inconvenience (though hardly any), it may have temporarily disrupted supply lines and hit the pockets of those who profited from cheap migrant labour, but this is why.

Sophie Corcoran Well said.👍 Brexit has also given millions of young people a meaningful vote once again. A real say in determining our country's future. And note how is so keen to give people a say that he blocked replies to that tweet. 🤔
