Children are excluded for extreme behaviours, not because schools don’t care about them. Really glad to get the chance to stand up for PRUs and AP tonight after the extraordinary slating that some people give them. Special provision is intensive care for highly challenging kids.

Thank goodness for Tom Bennett OBE who stands up for the profession (“no school gives up in children”) as well as PRUs (I’d like to stand up for PRUs and stop them being demonised”).
