I agree, 3.7% or 5.5% *is* pitiful. Imagine if anyone (*cough* ⁦UK Research and Innovation⁩ ) had the gall to plan 2.9% or 2.54% in London, ie an over-£1,000 #PhDPayCut to highly qualified workers doing valuable research who are already below the poverty line & ineligible for govt support?

❗️Another week, another PhD student has come to my office in tears as they can’t afford to live in London on £18k. And this is before the price cap increase. UK Research and Innovation this time - can I ask what you are doing to support the next-generation so there is a next-generation?! Pls RT
