Green Growers enjoying spring temperatures as new wood chip was added to the path. Snowdrops, crocuses amd primroses already out. In the UK flowering has begun 28 days earlier than previous records. #climatechange

Spring is definitely in the garden today. Primroses, forget me nots and plenty unwelcome weeds too! Cleared space for the last of our #ccaf funded raised beds and weeded the old beds. Getting ready for a new season of growing.

Green Growers this week in autumn sunshine clearing beds, sowing wildflower seed amd planting shallots and onions. All under the watchful eye of an interested robin!

Work has started Green Growers with a clear away of dead plant material for our compost heap and putting in some goldenrod to provide insects with a valuable food source in late summer

Frog spawn has arrived and plenty of it. Also put in some snowdrops in the green thanks to the Snowdrop In event a couple of weekends ago run by Broughty Ferry in Bloom. Hopefully even more spring flowers next year.

The Senior Personal Development Award group have started their advent collection for the Taught By Muhammad Foodbank. If all Pupils made a contribution it would be a big help to the Foodbank. Here is a list of items the Foodbank are in need of.

S1 Outdoor Learning group from Grove Academy were busy at Shiell St yesterday. They raked leaves, turned a large fallen branch into a wood pile, swept the railway bridge steps, planted out some winter veg & found worms on the way. John Muir Trust #community

Before and after! Fallen dead tree at Shiell St, down in last night’s storm. Dundee City Council had the tree cleared within hours and have left some logs and wood chip for our Outdoor Learning groups to use. Great job done today.

Outdoor Learning groups from Grove Academy have been busy Green Growers. The bog garden is taking shape, the wood chip pile is now used to upgrade the path and we are trying our hand at creating a dead hege for wildlife. #Community

Great to see Spring has sprung in Shiell Street.

Louise from Froglife helped at Shiell St today. The group worked on the Shiell St pond, found a frog in the pond. First one spotted this year. Also developed the bug hotel and planted our donated blueberry bush. #ThisIsLforS

Retirement work party with past pupils from Grove Academy on Friday. What a privilege it has been to have gardened with this lot over the last 6-10 years. Plus: bridge cleared, path cleared and last of the #RHSGrowWithIt seedlings planted. #VolunteerWeek
