The US isn't just home to the world's most incarcerated people. It’s also home to the world's most *formerly* incarcerated people—who are 10 times more likely to be homeless. We can't end the housing crisis until we repair the harms of mass incarceration. nextcity.org/urbanist-news/…

Every time you hear the word "crime" in the next 66 days...remember: Violent crime had the largest year-over-year decline since people started keeping stats, last year was a huge drop too Crime is substantially lower than it was 4 years ago

What do the fact that he has felony convictions have to do with his conduct at Arlington Cemetery? Stop with the fucking “felon” rhetoric already! 😡

Y'ALL. This tool is SO COOL. And important--transparent data is a big deal in a fight for more accountability! Examples I just pulled: The Fairfax PD have HIGHER racial disparity in arrest rates & search rates in 2023 than they had in 2020. Richmond PD has VERY high disparity.

We Arnold Ventures were frustrated that the US publishes data on the # of hogs slaughtered each day with a one day lag but national crime stats only annually, 9 months later. Since the FBI can't/won't publish more timely data, we funded the creation of realtimecrimeindex.com
