We never thought we’d be sharing an article with Justin Bieber in the title, but it’s about inquiry-based learning! (With a great quote from @shanti_inquired ) forbes.com/sites/dereknew…

Appropriate for this New York Times article - I can’t find it online. But some great stats about students NOT actually equating sitting in front of a device as engagement (and admin thinking the opposite).

Spent a lot of time thinking about how we carry out our mission of “Inquiry for Every Classroom” as teachers, family members, and students are being asked to teach and learn in unfamiliar ways. We know these tools won’t work for every context, but hope they support those looking.

How do we engage students during this challenging time? How can we use what we learn to shift our practice when students return to the classroom? We will be joined by Dr. Terri Holden Shawn Reddy, and Shanti Elangovan to explore these questions! Sign up: inquired.org/webinarinfo

Honored to have the opportunity to facilitate a discussion with YellowSpringsSchools and Chicago Public Schools about how we continue to prioritize student engagement during these challenging times.

"As recent conversations about the role of systemic racism... including schools have made clear to many, platitudes are not enough to effect the kind of radical change necessary to safeguard the lives and futures of Black youth." time.com/5876164/black-… So proud of Erica Hines!

Inspired by the thinking of Highline Schools - focusing on accelerating all students rather than learning loss. Makes me wonder how we are doing this when in person... the74million.org/article/how-a-…

Many social studies teachers are if anything, handed an outmoded, often inaccurate, textbook as their only resource. If we want to raise the bar for what social studies instruction looks like in our classrooms, we have to first support teachers with materials that meet that bar.
