Wisdom, the world’s oldest known wild bird, recently returned to Midway Atoll National Wildlife Refuge!

The beloved Laysan albatross, or mōlī, is in her 70s now and was first spotted last Friday by a volunteer.

Kittiwakes generally rear one or two chicks on the Isle of May but we see a few broods of three.

These chicks have a way to go before fledging but so far so good.

Lovely morning at RSPB Newport Wetlands with the otter, weasel and to many waders ducks and Reed bunting to count but did come across these beautiful bearded tits.

A mindfulness moment I created for RSPB Newport Wetlands to display in the visitor centre. Enjoy a few minutes of peace.

Another swim under the starling flight path on Monday. It seems like nothing will happen for ages, then they burst out of the West Pier in small groups, hugging the water all the way to the Palace Pier for a quick dance before bedtime.

Greg & Jinx did a fantastic job of demonstrating how effective they are at detecting rats on seabird islands Welsh Parliament today. #biosecurity tools like this are key to protecting seabirds and increasing their resilience to the other threats they face.
