Yesterday I went to the awarding of a Kings Award for Voluntary Service by the Lord Lieutenant to the Liverpool Samaritans. Every year lives are saved by a selfless group of 180 volunteers who work round the clock to listen to people who are in desperate straits. Samaritans Liverpool and Merseyside
