Amb. FUKUSHIMA has just attended a Handover ceremony of grant aid projects funded by Japan for the provision of general humanitarian in-kind food assistance at Nakamira Transit Center with PS HABINSHUTI Philippe Ministry in charge of Emergency Management , WFP CD Andrea Bagnoli and Mayor of Rubavu District.
Today, in collaboration with UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, Rwanda welcomed 92 asylum seekers from Libya, originating from Eritrea (57) and Sudan (35) through the Emergency Transit Mechanism.
Since 2019, 2242 people have been evacuated; over 1,600 successfully resettled in third countries.
In collaboration with Ministry in charge of Emergency Management, we hosted a High-Level validation meeting for the National Emergency Telecommunication Plan (NETP)—a comprehensive guide that outlines the regulatory framework and details the actions required in all phases of the disaster management cycle.
