Here's a video from Anil van der Zee © on living with severe ME, plus an interview about why he made the film and how being unable to move--he is a former dancer--makes him feel like a part of himself has been amputated: virology.ws/2024/05/14/tri…

A positive commitment to increase the public health grant in the Liberal Democrats manifesto. Sexual health services have borne the greatest burden of public health cuts, while STIs soar and many wait months for PrEP. We urge all parties to commit to action on HIV and sexual health.

There are 16 million disabled people in the UK but during the six weeks of campaigning, there’s been little focus on how the main political parties are going to help them. Ruben Reuter went to find out what they have to offer.

Some GPs are now refusing collaborative treatment agreements from private specialists around ADHD, so patients have to wait up to 5 years to get treated. Who benefits? GPs. Obstructive? The BMA isn't credible Wes Streeting Shaun Lintern #healthoutcomes #patientsafety

Please read and kindly share this letter from American physicians and nurses working in the Gaza catastrophe. I trust it far more than any media reporting for its depiction. Israel - and the USA - must be called to account for this atrocity. gazahealthcareletters.org/usa-letter-oct…

This is a classic example of physicians punishing patients for having illnesses they couldn't understand. A long, dark history of abuse, linking sexism (eg 'hysteria'/FND), racism, and anti-LGBTQ+ (eg conversion 'therapy'). The profession needs reining in v badly Wes Streeting

The BMA claims Phys Associates to be unsafe. But over 90% of GP diagnoses of mental illnesses and treatments I reviewed for Courts over 10 years were wrong. It's GPs who are unsafe. We need integrated, primary services not under GPs control. Wes Streeting

It was great to meet you all and have such a good discussion afterwards. Thank you all for your openness and the warm interest. I look forward to hearing how the Halton model of collaboration develops! Seriously, go for it.

The replies are telling examples of physicians trying to claim exceptional abilities/duties/challenges, when in fact any clinician who has responsibilities to patients experiences the same. It says more about physicians' exclusionary self-regard than their competencies.

🚨 NEW 🚨 On 22 January, GB News presenter Josh Howie repeated a homophobic slur linking the LGBTQ+ community to paedophilia. This is offensive, wrong and unlawful. Join us in writing a complaint to Ofcom to force them to take action 👇 goodlaw.social/i1m8
