Doubling down on my take earlier. Whoever is responsible for orchestrating this @ncaa Cross Country broadcast deserves major kudos. Perhaps the best broadcast I've ever seen in XC/TF. Sets a new standard for all to follow.

And I must say, the broadcast and commentary have been fantastic. Visual plusses: Split screen finish camera, live scores / leaderboard, time gaps, and drone view. Audio plusses: Smart, energetic, obervant, and present (not just scripted).

Exactly. For example, the New York Marathon women's race was FAR more compelling and memorable than the world record race at Chicago.

And XC is as guilty as any. We must stop trying to tell the story with times. They fail to capture what makes the sport so great. Competition!
