After unfortunately dropping out of the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials, Jenny Simpson decided to give it another go. Today, the former 1500m world champion ran 2:31:39 to finish as the fourth American in the 2024 Boston Marathon.

Emma Bates valiantly led the women's field for much of the race and came away with top American honors in 2:27:14 โ€“ her first race back since withdrawing from the 2024 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials due to injury.

Hellen Obiri is pulling away now. She's looking to put a wrap on her back-to-back Boston Marathon titles.

This should be enough for the Athletics Kenya selectors to put her on the Olympic team.
