How do Proteins Perform under Pressure? Haley Moran JHU CBI Stephen Fried JHU teamed up with Richard Gillilan Cornell University Cornell High Energy Synchrotron Source and combined high pressure biophysics & structural proteomics to give us some answers! Out now in PRX Life. 1/3 journals.aps.org/prxlife/abstra…
Announcing CACHE2 results! Crowdsourcing and conventional methods did as well as novel ML. Teams started from 4 fragments in the PDB. We tested their predictions and found double-digit µM hits. This is the state-of-the-art. Structural Genomics Consortium (SGC) Conscience bit.ly/4dTPBzO
Kudos to Cheryl Arrowsmith 's amazing biophysics team Structural Genomics Consortium (SGC) who ran the experimental validation. A special shout-out to Oleksandra Herasymenko and Madhushika Silva who led the charge!
Very excited to have taken part in the CACHE2 hit finding challenge. Thank you so much to the organisers and well done to all the participants! We've written up some of our experiences in this blog: cole-group.github.io/2024/09/10/cac… Newcastle Chemistry Sciences at Newcastle
Today, Supervisor Nora Vargas held an emergency press conference claiming the air in South Bay SD is safe. Yesterday, I presented our findings at a presser showing continuous, multi-day measurements of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) well above the CARB ambient hourly standard of 30 ppb (1/8)

Awesome lineup of scientists for our annual postdoc Rising Stars Symposium 🙌 Keynote Elizabeth Villa!
Prof. Adrian Roitberg received the Frank E. Harris Professorship in Theoretical Chemistry. This professorship was made available through the generosity of the estate of Frank E. Harris. Dr. Harris was a member of the dept faculty in the Quantum Theory Project. Congrats!
