University Hospitals Birmingham ending locum pay for doctors is an incredibly shortsighted move. Ridiculous to end locum rates for doctors who are willing to step up when needed most. University Hospitals Birmingham must be aware this will lead to burnout and understaffed wards?

These new extra-contractual rates in University Hospitals Birmingham are abysmal. The average hourly rate for a plumber is £50 per hour. For an emergency plumber it is £112.50 with a £110 call out fee. Massive withdrawal of locums is the only answer to this.
