Let's ride safely together, City of Miami 💙 Bird is committed to distributing free helmets to all riders, whether it's through in-person events like Friday's giveaway in beautiful Bayfront Park Miami or partnerships and activations with local businesses and orgs like @RidersMia.
Every time you get behind the wheel, it's important to realize that protected intersections not only make bicycle riding safer, they make driving less stressful. Support your city and your fellow commuters by supporting protected bike lanes. #DriveSafe #TargetZero FLORIDA DOT
We've been waiting for truly protected bike lanes in Miami for years. To see this network come together is the greatest holiday present ever. Thank you, Miami-Dade DTPW, Daniella Levine Cava, Commissioner Eileen Higgins, Ken Russell, Carlos Cruz and @EuloisCleckley. Counting on you for more PBLs!
Throughout the pandemic, transit users and vulnerable road users have been denied access to live-saving measures because they arrive to government sites on foot. Your life shouldn’t depend on how you get around, Daniella Levine Cava. This policy needs to be addressed immediately.
We'll be joining Better Streets Miami Beach for a memorial following the traffic death of Miguel Ortiz, who was hit by a driver on Miami Beach recently. We'll be calling for immediate changes to Miami Beach's bike/ped policy. Read more: riders.miami/miguel-ortiz-v…
Reminder about this evening's memorial for Miguel Ortiz. Miami Riders Alliance will be livestreaming on Twitter and Instagram for those who are unable to make it but would like to view the memorial.
NOTE: Commodore Trail Office of Capital Improvements public meeting has been relocated to the alternate location under Dinner Key Marina. Just a quick walk south of Regatta Park.
Nearly a year into #VisionZero, the program's main proponents Commissioner Eileen Higgins and Daniella Levine Cava have made little progress on building safer road infrastructure. Yesterday, two cyclists died because of this lack of infrastructure. We need action, not #ZeroVision.
