Fare evasion. If someone is asked to show their ticket, refuses to cooperate with the ticket inspector and walks off, any police officer who detains that person risks being convicted of assault. Police have now been withdrawn from fare evasion operations. Crazy world.

Context is important. Lots of noise about banning cycle lanes passing bus stops where 4 pedestrians injured (2020-22). Draws attention away from 26,000+ injuries caused by motor vehicles in same period.

A 16 year old lad in hospital after being knocked off his bike by a driver who then crashed into a primary school fence. One of the many personal injury collisions that happen every day. Yet our government talk about fighting the war on motorists.

If you could never have a cycle lane in front of or behind a bus stop, it would mean you could never have bus stops on roads with segregated cycle lanes. That would be a crazy policy proposal and completely impractical.

Flowers starting to appear on the dog rose that meanders through out mixed species native hedge. The flowers provide nectar for insects and its fruit provide food for birds such as blackbirds, redwings and waxwings (according to Woodland Trust🌳).

Escaping into a wildlife friendly garden is such a tonic. Full of bees and damselflies stopping off on our new native hedge, with frogs and newts in the pond and birds visiting the feeders. 😎

Is it worth the Conservatives calling a general election before they get completely wiped out? As time goes on, they seem to be falling even further behind in the polls. Government currently on life support.

Should Blackheath Standard have a 20 mph limit? Absolutely.

Heavy traffic on a winding road network with narrow pavements as people dash to catch the bus. I’m pleased Averil Lekau has asked highways officers to investigate the issue.

It’s finally done. Sadiq Khan re-elected with an increased majority (small swing from Conservative to Labour). Time to move forwards and make London a better and more sustainable place to live our lives. Need to learn from terrible mistake of Silvertown Tunnel.
