While I've spent much of the week in DC, my heart has been in WNY. On Tuesday, I honored the victims of 5/14, ensuring their memories were permanently inscribed in the Congressional Record. Thank you to James E. Clyburn for joining me. Watch here: youtube.com/watch?v=7eil-Uโฆ
Great to meet with the US Dr. Vivek Murthy, U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy today. We discussed working with his office to address mental health and substance use disorders here in our WNY community. I'm grateful for the Surgeon General's proactive leadership.
WATCH: Our newest Member Rep. Tim Kennedy utilizes his first Committee hearing to recognize National Police Week and the bravery of Lt. Aaron Salter, Jr.โs sacrifice during the Buffalo, NY mass shooting two years ago.
Thank you, Grace Meng. Aaron Salter, Jr. was a hero and he saved lives. On 5/14, he put his training to use and hit his target. Because of the gunman's military-grade body armor, the violence continued. This legislation will protect law enforcement and the public.
We know today may be an emotional day within our Buffalo community. If you need support during this time, we are only a call or message away.

Thank you Rep. Tim Kennedy for standing with union nurses just days into your term by cosponsoring H.R. 2530, our federal RN-to-Patient ratios bill!
As you said on the House floor, letโs get it done!
The extraordinary souls stolen from us on 5/14 deserve an extraordinary memorial. I was proud to join members of the 5/14 Memorial Planning Commission, Governor Kathy Hochul, Byron W. Brown, Mark Poloncarz and many more to unveil the final design for this fitting tribute.
Thanks to Daemen University for hosting this weekend's Vets Expo. My office was proud to join dozens of organizations to offer support for our local veterans.
Congratulations to Zeneta Everhart! The 2nd Annual #BuffaloBlackCaucus set the bar even higher than the first. As we prepare to honor the memories of those we lost on 5/14, this event filled participants with hope, pride, and a recommitment to the fight for equity and equality.
Welcome to Congress Rep. Tim Kennedy! Iโm so excited to work alongside you for our constituents in Buffalo and Western New York!
Congratulations Chairman Cooney! Amazing choice by Majority Leader Sen. Stewart-Cousins. Transportation in New York State will thrive with you leading the way!
