Storytime y'all; some of you may know this and some of you may not. I had a stepfather who physically/mentally/emotionally abused me, one day he grabbed my leg and lifted me up off the bed and started hitting my face with his belt; I couldn't even go to school bc I didn'tー

ーwant to start half my first year with a partially disfigured face; it later healed. Then the last time he did it, he was mad from arguing with my mom and since I was more caring and empathetic at that time, all I fucking asked him was, "hey are you okay?" And he pushed into

my room, put his hand over my mouth and nose, and used his other hand to dig his thumbnail into my forehead, which made it bleed. I muffled-yelled to him, "I can't breathe!" And he said he didn't care if I couldn't breathe, then after I went unconscious from lack of air he left

ー Now, here's the tricky part; I had no idea it was child abuse, and I didn't know until when I was in class and we were all talking about how we were disciplined, and my teacher said that if your parent hits you anywhere that's not the butt, it's child abuse.

ーI threatened him that I was gonna tell my mom what he did, but he threatened to rape me if I did, so I kept quiet until he left (and looking back that was a mistake) and when i told my mom what he did, she did everything that was legally possible to keep my ex-step-fatherー

ーaway from me. In a way, I'm glad it happened because now I can help other kids and adults who went through abuse like I did.
