During these challenging times we need to think hard about the work-life balance of our teachers. If we do not then we will soon need a 'track and trace' device to find those who leave the profession in a desperate search for a balanced life.

This morning, Miss Quirós Dr.R and I delivered 3 different GCSE Spanish booster sessions, hoping to motivate and improve knowledge before PPEs in December. We loved having more 1-1 time with pupils and helping them to love their language even more! 🇪🇸

So I just tried to get petrol. Woman at station questioning people to see if they qualify. It was my turn (I don't have enough petrol to get to school tomorrow. Just £10' worth I need). She asked if I'm an essential worker, I said Teacher, she said no! What now then.

What’s the point of learning languages? If you enjoy food, music, dance, sport, books, film, art, sociology, meeting new people, understanding other views, seeing life from different perspectives or just sharing the world, that’s the point. Life is richer with another language.
