At the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin, Éric de Rothschild received the Max Herrmann 2024 Prize from Armin Laschet, awarded to Project Aladdin. "In this war on hate, on ignorance and on extremism, our strategic arm remains education and books." concluded Project Aladdin's co-founder.

On the 17th of July, in Istanbul Project Aladdin held the opening conference of the 2024 International Summer University for Intercultural Leadership, now in its 11th year of existence.

The IUIL Opening Conference began with BAU President Prof. Esra Hatipoğlu's welcoming remarks. She highlighted the benefits of the BAU-Project Aladdin partnership in promoting interculturality, and expressed hope that the fruitful cooperation will continue to expand.

Eminent Turkish historian Professor İlber Ortaylı spoke of Istanbul's rich culture and history, highlighting its long history of intercultural harmony and religious coexistence as a model to be looked upon nowadays.

In her powerful remarks at the International Conference, Dr. Leah Pisar highlighted the accomplishments of Project Aladdin that has remained true to its founding principles despite a complex international context marked by conflicts, the pandemic, and the climate crisis.

His Excellency Dr Dr. Abdulaziz Sager | د.عبد العزيز بن عثمان بن صقر, founding Chairman of the Gulf Research Center in Saudi Arabia, was the keynote speaker at the opening conference.

A panel of senior United Nations officials and experts discussed the successes and failures of the international community in working towards environmental, social and economic sustainability.

His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Abdelsalam, Secretary General of the Council of Muslim Elders and the UAE-based Committee for Human Fraternity, gave a masterclass on intercultural and interfaith dialogue.
