British Journal of Sports Medicine (BJSM) Jill Cook Can Keith Baar plz provide evidence in humans that HSRT breaks ×-links. If ×-links are a major modulator of stiffness - how does HSR in humans ⬇️ ×-links yet HSR is the best intervention to ⬆️ stiffness? Completely contradicts large body of evidence in human training studies.

British Journal of Sports Medicine (BJSM) Jill Cook Keith Baar here's evidence to say that in PT of humans X links were unrelated to the mechanical properties of that area of the tendon. journals.physiology.org/doi/full/10.11…

Fit For Golf - Mike Carroll yea could be that pathology was already established and therefore ticking timebomb. Jill Cook the best to give u insights. Plus as Jill has said to me many times- tendons don't like rest, so intermittent intense load not a good idea likely.

Physio Network Jill Cook Superb thread, Jill was the persons work I read like hell when I had patella Tendon problems in 2017, followed all these stages and was fixed 9-10 month later! Have since helped tons of athletes with similar issues rehab successfully as my role as a coach, big hats of to Jill 🙏

But I think with multiple studies now suggesting we are reaching well over 10% AT strain that 1. AT failure strain is not 10% 2. Unlikely that strains >7-8% are catabolic in nature. as always more studies and info needed 🫡

Scot Morrison Patrick Ward Dr Paul Kirwan for healthy tendons it's N/A. can get 👌 adaptation frm little as 1s. No evidence 30s is *needed*. Short- mod duration (5-15s) with rest may be 🔑 for maintaining strain. >30s seems 2b v specific for unhealthy tendon bt is severely lacking in quality human intervention data

@gerdy_mac Jill Cook Scot Morrison Patrick Ward Dr Paul Kirwan Beyond evidence, duration, protocols or opinions: - Exercise selection is key. Single joint better than complex kinetic chain positions for ISOs. - Quality should be the threshold: if you start compensating or shaking after 12", it's useless to maintain for 30 , 45 or 60".

Interesting thread Every tendon is different in each person Subtleties in load prescription is the key skill of the clinician
