A lack of nurses and other HCPs is at the heart of why the HC system is in crisis

Privatization of services would cannibalize already limited resources

But I 💯 agree with Sylvia Jones that everything else should be on the table to innovate and rethink how we deliver care

Nurses amaze me with their ability to find ways to care for the sickest patients, even when ER is understaffed and overcrowded

They have been doing this for years, largely taken for granted, and asked to do more with less

Today’s crisis was 💯 predictable

They deserve better

I fully expect more closures of ERs to patients with less serious conditions

That band aid doesn’t stick very well to the real problems: nursing and bed capacity

Patients coming to ER seeking our help are NOT the problem, they’re the reason we exist.
