Today, we are celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Monte Cassino. In 1944, after a week of fierce fighting, soldiers of the 2nd Polish Corps captured the Monte Cassino monastery, breaking through the German Gustav Line and opening the way to Rome for the Allies. ✨

Yesterday, we celebrated the launch of 'Agent Zo,' a new book by @ClareMulley. It tells the extraordinary tale of Elżbieta Zawacka, the first and only Cichociemna. 🪂 The Deputy Head of Mission Bartosz Wiśniewski inaugurated the event hosted by @Ognisko_Polskie.

Tamara Lempicka, the ‘Queen of Art Deco’, was born #OTD 126 years ago. The iconic paintings of this glamour star are among the most expensive works created by women. She also remains the favourite artist of Jack Nicholson, Barbra Streisand, and Madonna! 🖼️
