Due to cancellations, only one college principal could be found to join the employers' side of the NJNC for negotiations yesterday. This lack of effort to prioritise negotiations denotes a complete lack of respect for the lecturing workforce. #FightingforFE

Our employers have asked us to join with them to lobbying the Scottish Government for more funding for FE. To do so, our employers must agree with us that reform of college governance through increased accountability is central to moving the sector forward. #fightingforFE

Managers always talk of the students being the most important people, at the centre of everything. Why then, are the people who have direct contact, influence & responsibility for these precious beings, paid the least? Lecturers should earn more than managers. Invert the pyramid.

Our employers must bin the spin and publicly stand up for the sector. Scotland's colleges currently face the prospect of widespread industrial action from all staff. Avoiding this should be the priority for college leaders, not rehearsing the same arguments of the last decade.

Rishi Sunak's new anti-union legislation means when workers democratically vote to strike, they could be forced to work and sacked if they don’t. Join the campaign to protect the right to strike. megaphone.org.uk/petitions/prot… via Megaphone UK

We have had no assurance from the Scottish Government that they will act to avoid compulsory redundancies in the Further Education sector. Allowing the managed decline of colleges is simply unacceptable. We will resist compulsory redundancies at every turn. #fightingforFE
