Important to note that the language of 'addiction' may not be helpful when discussing internet use, and that this (self reporting) study shows association, not causation. Self reporting focuses on behaviours and effects, which is good, but can still introduce bias Prof Pete Etchells

Dear said headteacher:
1. Read 'Unlocked' by Prof Pete Etchells before you start lazily blithering on about mobile phone addiction
2. Recognise that you are not a parent, and children have a universal human right to family life that you need to allow time for

Rory Cellan-Jones camilla cavendish Prof Pete Etchells I was thinking something similar. The unwary listener would have assumed she was an expert expressing a well established view, with no sense that there are alternative views well supported by evidence.

Kate Timandra Harkness Prof Pete Etchells Oh I’ll be doing just that very thing soon cos we gotta have some balanced, evidenced and well grounded conversations in this space. I’m not MSM news but …This overbearing grandiose ego tour is too much… and I get it; parents are overwhelmed and this gives them an easy finger
