David is a lovely human being who runs his own training business teaching others his container expertise, and their offices just burned down. He needs a new job and some community love, stat.

Who’s hiring container/K8s experts who are good at teaching right now? Can you help?

If you're in Seattle for OSSNA, you should know that the Momocha food truck in Westlake Center is super tasty and worth the walk.

Free and Open Source software communities are anything *but* β€œfragile” in light of recent failed attacks.

They are smart. They are vigilant. They are resilient.

But they also need support from institutions given the resources attackers may have.

A hill I will die on is the architecture of the internet led people to believe that a lack of friction, is the goal of life. But you can’t be in community w/o friction. It actually takes out all the places where trust and camaraderie are built.

Already exists and it is Pkl. Then after Pkl, it is Wasm cause all declarative stuff should just go away and be replaced by actual programs.

Programming microcontrollers with Embedded Swift is... definitely fun :)

Check out the sample projects (for ARM and RISC-V microcontrollers) we just published if you'd like to try that out too, or if you're just curious:

Some learn faster than others.

Writing your own discriminatory (non-open) licenses does often 'hamper or at least complicate the community contributions, given the legal uncertainty that arises as soon as you deviate from the standard licenses.'

Nicely done! πŸ‘

Kubernetes The Hard Way has been updated and migrated to ARM64. The tutorial is now cloud provider agnostic and only requires a set of ARM based VMs or physical machines.

I've been guilty of this most of my career. I gave up on changing the world through work a long time ago.

Instead, I found a community through open source, and have been investing in people who might go on to change the world ever since.

Nominate me as KubeCon co-chair and I will ensure there are more comfortable less-noisy places to sit and talk. All these places will have whiteboards to sketch ideas together. There would also be enough space for any project interested in the project pavilion.
