This is level the of clarity that's going to democratize AI/ML. We need more people that can explain what's happening behind the scenes, in simple terms, if we really want this next wave of technology to benefit everyone, and not just a handful of corporations.

Excited for our live stream later today with Kelsey Hightower

Tune in to hear how he built his career in cloud computing and Kubernetes as a self-taught software engineer.

Adam was one of the VPs I reported to during my time at Google, and when we didn't align on something, he supported my position as he knew it was rooted in authenticity, and my desire to never violate the trust of my community.

Being a trusted voice is hard when you work for a large employer with a strong brand identity. That was something I earned before joining Google.

Companies expect your views to align with theirs, but the opportunity for building trust tends to presents itself when it doesn't.

Looking forward to my keynote at the Open Source Summit next week. Open Source has evolved a lot since I got started in the late 1900s, and it's hard to tell if we are trending in the right direction, but one thing is for certain, it's worth preserving. events.linuxfoundation.org/open-source-su…

1/5 OpenTofu recently got a cease & desist letter from HashiCorp claiming copyright infringement. At the same time, an online publication made the same accusation.

These claims have *zero* basis in fact. And because the code is open source, you can see this for yourself!

This month marks 13 years of working on Arm servers. In that time I’ve helped define the architecture, platform specs, co-led a project to bring Red Hat Enterprise Linux to Arm, and worked on a number of Arm server designs. Hardware and software 💪

It's some awesomeness! Back to the basics - the less cloud noise, the better 💪

Tried following the revamped Kubernetes The Hard Way using my MiniLAN playground labs.iximiuz.com/playgrounds/mi…, and it seems to work fine even on amd64 - only some minor adjustments were required.

Kubernetes The Hard Way has been updated and migrated to ARM64. The tutorial is now cloud provider agnostic and only requires a set of ARM based VMs or physical machines.

Most of what we call 'tech' is about getting the right information into a database and trying to prevent the wrong person from reading or updating it.

Most conferences already lag the bleeding edge. Most of the stuff we are talking about is for sale already.

Bleeding edge tends to be too experimental for most people and is hard to monetize in the conference format.

DevRel can afford to pay* to speak at conferences. Unless conferences start paying speakers, including travel expenses, I expect most talk submissions to come from those being sponsored by their employer.

* pay their own travel expenses and work for free

I've been guilty of this most of my career. I gave up on changing the world through work a long time ago.

Instead, I found a community through open source, and have been investing in people who might go on to change the world ever since.
