Great tips for coiling type 5 coronary perfs. Note hand position. Normal wire can be used. If coil rip curls up it's out of vessel- that's when you pull back your finecross. Goal is to have small coiled part outside, rest (straight )in vessel. #CTO2024

ST-Elevation with dual injection in CTO PCI. Good example to keep your eye on the ECG and maybe opt for sequential injections #CTO2024

Calls into question the QoL benefit in TRISCEND II & TRILUMINATE open label trials without placebo control which drove PEP in these trials & regulatory approval.   What is the role of interatrial shunting in HF given null results in RELIEVE-HF and REDUCE-LAP HF II?

Gosh, I was surprised to see this ad for a medical device that might be beneficial in very specific circumstances and has substantial risks. It showed up in my The New York Times feed. Seems to lack any nuance. The U.S. FDA approved this ad?

Highly innovative experiment in Circulation using plasmapheresis shows that the half life of troponin is much shorter than previously thought. This means troponin is released after MI for longer than previously believed. ahajournals.org/doi/full/10.11…

Just read this viewpoint from re-known authors regarding asymptomatic aortic stenosis. As expected I disagree 200% and feel the ground is being pushed for an unfortunate guideline modification. My reasons….(1/x) jamanetwork.com/journals/jamac…

Our beliefs about LAAC should have been pessimistic going into the trial: CLOSURE AF finds extremely pessimistic data—which only strengthen these priors. open.substack.com/pub/sensibleme… via John Mandrola, MD
