Society for One-Place Studies 1โฃ๐๏ธ๐ Cristina As with any OPS youโll need to consider how you will access the records you need. The records you need will depend on the goals of your OPS, what you want to find out etc #OnePlaceWednesday
Although these Ramsons (photographed yesterday) were not in a #OnePlaceStudy , they reminded me of Tyneham | Where time stopped in 1943 OPS. A pre-war pupil's essay displayed in the schoolroom there years ago described how hens laid eggs tasting of garlic after eating Ramsons leaves! #OnePlaceWednesday
There are many different ways to tackle #OnePlaceStudies . In the early stages, it's helpful to set boundaries (of the place being studied, and the core time period) and achievable goals. A mini-project can give you a starting point from which your OPS can grow. #OnePlaceWednesday
Reflecting on a month of #OnePlaceStudy blog posts for the #AToZChallenge on #OnePlaceWednesday !

The old vicarage that faces on to All Saints Church, Claverley, Shropshire.
โAn interesting C15 house with original beamed ceilings and evidence of the original screen. Its picturesque end gable ... is Elizabethan or Jacobean.โ (Pevsner)

A recurring question: how do you start a #OnePlaceStudy ? Check out the excellent answers to Cristina Cristina's query, and maybe add your own?
Incidentally, we think @JulieGoucher (Sutera, Sicily OPS) will be very interested in this! #OnePlaceWednesday
A recently donated image of Low Moorgate #Rillington #OnePlaceStudy shows many landmarks. Grade II Holly House on the right, Teapot Row on the far left and the massive beech tree only recently removed. The first post office & shop in the middle. So many clues. #OnePlaceWednesday
