#SchoolForFidgets has a new URL👇The strength of pupil & student message remains clear & compelling - fidgeting can positively impact the tasks & activities they want, need & are expected to do. Watch 5-min film here ➡️ youtu.be/-dj0YMiuwyo #InclusiveEducation #Neurodiversity

🎬 Fidgeting & stimming are often misunderstood 🎬 Occupational therapist Saskia Grassie created School for Fidgets showing "the relationship between fidgeting, self-regulation, learning & wellbeing from the child & young person’s perspective" Pls share youtu.be/-dj0YMiuwyo

OT_Expert The children and young people’s art work, interview responses, music, voice overs and advice from the pilot stage are what make School for Fidgets special. Honoured to be trusted with such honest and important information ☺️

OT_Expert 1/ Great question. You’ll find resources to signpost patients / carers to for #Benefits on trusted charity websites which relate to specific health conditions eg ME Association #MECFS #LongCovid Royal College of Occupational Therapists website for #LongCovid is #PIP resource I wrote with support Greater Manchester Law Centre

@Dr Jenny Ceolta-Smith PhD RetiredOT 💙💛 (@jceoltasmith) 's Twitter Profile Photo

OT_Expert ME Association Royal College of Occupational Therapists Greater Manchester Law Centre 2/ Healthcare professionals can get an idea from the above resources on the way in which the current assessment ( proposed to change) is undertaken and how a letter/ report can provide evidence on each descriptor BUT key importance is adding information on : see 3/

@Dr Jenny Ceolta-Smith PhD RetiredOT 💙💛 (@jceoltasmith) 's Twitter Profile Photo

OT_Expert ME Association Royal College of Occupational Therapists Greater Manchester Law Centre 3/ Add details on STAR - ie safely , timely to an acceptable level reliably & repeatedly . Eg pt. Can make a hot drink am one day but not again that same day or following day is important to make explicit in any supporting documentation #PIP gov.uk/government/pub…

Sylvia Penny OT_Expert Thank you Sylvia. I know people value those resources but there is a cost. Do you have any thoughts on what healthcare professionals eg #OccupationalTherapists should include in supporting evidence when they write reports for our #PIP claims? Trusted advice via advicelocal

Sylvia Penny (@pennysfromwales) 's Twitter Profile Photo

@Dr Jenny Ceolta-Smith PhD RetiredOT 💙💛 OT_Expert advicelocal I would include people’s inability to repeatedly, reliably and safely repeat tasks, even minimal cognitive or physical activities. Reading, speaking on the phone can make people relapse quickly. In tasks it is not just the action that can affect them but the steps to get 1/2

Sylvia Penny (@pennysfromwales) 's Twitter Profile Photo

@Dr Jenny Ceolta-Smith PhD RetiredOT 💙💛 OT_Expert advicelocal 2/2 to that action e.g. cooking a meal involves finding a recipe, buying ingredients, chopping veggies & cooking a meal before you even consider eating it. For some people this would be far too much and they would be unable to cut it up into manageable pieces. I hope this helps?

✨Long Covid✨ What are some recommended assessment tools to measure the functional impact of Long Covid? Also, are there any predictive tools? ___

ACN (@allencognitive) 's Twitter Profile Photo

OT_Expert The Allen Battery has good predictive validity: ACLS-5.2, Allen Diagnostic Module, the Routine Task Inventory & the Cognitive Performance Test all yield an Allen level score that indicates level of independence, supervision & set up required for safety & client satisfaction
